    Obituary Mrs. Jeanette Atkins Simpson, 54, of 2900 Ararat Road, Ararat, N.C., the wife of Brent Simpson, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at her home. Mrs. Simpson was born in Surry County on Oct. 6, 1946, the daughter of the late Clifton and Josie Dorothy Doby Atkins.
    She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was a member of New Home Church of Christ.
    Survivors include her husband, Brent Simpson of the home; a daughter, Monica Simpson of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Amy Simpson of Ararat and Kevin and Susan Simpson of Elkin; three grandsons, Tyler Simpson and Kyle Simpson, both of Ararat, and Dylan Simpson of Elkin; and a sister, Frankie Butcher of Dobson.
    The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2001 at Moody Funeral Home, Chapel of Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. John Snow. Burial will be in the New Home Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Northern Hospice, P.O. Box 6626, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
